Hello editors from far and wide and welcome to the TV issue of CinemaEditor! Look inside where we’ll hear from the incredibly talented editors of The Underground Railroad, Bridgerton, I May Destroy You and Queen Sugar.

We’ll also hear from two recent ACE Eddie Award winners, Michelle Tesoro, ACE, for her amazing work on The Queen’s Gambit; and Lee Harting, for the animated hit comedy Rick and Morty. As many of you know we just held ACE’s annual meeting, virtually still, but back on schedule. We also held our first committee fair where members could participate in breakout rooms to learn more about our many ACE committees including Diversity, Internship, International Relations, Blue Ribbon, Welcome and Membership.

Not only that, there were breakout rooms to explore potential new committees including education, social, animation, as well as region-specific groups in London and New York. There was a lot of interest in all of these committees and if you missed the annual meeting, no worries, check out our website where the various committees are listed with descriptions and a sign-up form. Don’t be shy, help out if you can – you’ll have fun and get to hang with some of your fellow ACE members.

Coming up is our second ACE EditFest Global event taking place virtually on August 28-29. Last year’s event you may remember was a huge success. It was great to have editors young and old, established and just starting out joining in from all over the world. This year’s event will be no different with topics from musicals to remote working, and we’re thrilled to feature a keynote conversation with Tom Cross, ACE, whose credits include La La Land, First Man and his Oscar®-winning work on Whiplash. We are also proud to announce the ACE International Partner Program which will be launching at EditFest Global.

Don’t forget to sign up, and enjoy this opportunity to network with your fellow editors and celebrate the best job in the film business. Fingers crossed we’ll be having our first in-person event this fall with our new board installation, then our ACE Holiday Party and then… the 72nd Eddie Awards, which are slated for Feb. 26.

Mark your calendar! Enjoy this issue of the magazine and keep on cutting! Stay safe, stay sane and stay strong!
