Honoring what editing means to the elder ACE Editors became Allan Holzman’s gift to ACE as part of his becoming a member. Diane Adler, who served on the ACE Board of Directors instantly embraced the idea. An avid sailor and long-standing member of the California Yacht Club, she arranged for the interviews of the ACE Life Members to take place by the waterfront of the club.
During the exquisite lunch masterminded by ACE Executive Director Jenni McCormick, which the Emmy Award winning editor of M*A*S*H and Dallas, Fred Berger, ACE, declared “First Cabin,” a panel discussion with ACE founding members and past Presidents Stanley Frazen, ACE, and Danny Cahn, ACE, and hosted by ACE President Mark Goldblatt, ACE, included a reading of the biographies of every Life Member in attendance.
Life Members featured in ACE Heritage Brunch 2000 are (in order of appearance): Karen Rasch, ACE; Paul Landres, ACE; Dann Cahn, ACE; George Watters, ACE; Larry Strong, ACE; Ralph E. Winters, ACE; John R. Burnett, ACE; George Gale, ACE; Dick Darling, ACE; Diane Adler, ACE; Howard Terrill, ACE; Joseph Dervin, ACE; Ted Rich, ACE; Robert Crawford, ACE; Jan Ambler, ACE; Ralph Schoenfeld, ACE; Stanley Frazen, ACE; and Fred Berger, ACE.
